I was watching Medium last night (okay, early this morning), and the girl had a necklace that said "Tara". The characters kept calling her tar-uh. I've always heard it pronounced tare-uh.

How do you pronounce it?

This. Tare-uh doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I never really thought about it until I heard it pronounced tar-uh, and realized that's more of the phonetic pronunciation.

For me, it looks just like Sara(h). I've never heard that pronounced sahr-a. Although I have heard Tara pronounced both ways
