Discussion Post! Names You Hope(d) Never Become (or Became) Popular

Because you love them, of course! I'm a bit sad today because my favorite name Ariadne is the name of one of the main characters in Inception, so I'm hoping that nobody likes it enough to use often. So, members, what names do you hope/have you hoped never get the reply, "Oh, I've heard that before!"???

Linus and Nestor. I don't think there's much of a chance of any of my favorite girl names ever becoming popular, so I'm not really worried about them.

What? No. Do you mean to tell me there are people named Linus and Nestor in Lost? D:

There's a character named Ben Linus, and one of the actors is Nestor Carbonell. The names Saywer (character) and Evangeline (actress) seem to have become more popular since the show was on.

I wouldn't be nervous. Linus and Nestor aren't exactly fashionable, and I don't think that would change in the next few years. People my age (I'm 17) seem to enjoy those soft names, the kind that roll off the tongue easily (or they're unimaginative, as in they still like the names Jennifer and Ashley, for instance), so I think you're good.

Even if in ten years there's an influx of Harry Potter and Twilight names, you're looking more at baby Hermiones, Percys, and Edwards than finding a Linus and Nestor in the bunch.
