new name obsession of mine:

Genevieve

Janie Louise would be a given first-daughter's name, because Jane was my boyfriend's mom's name and Louise is a traditional middle name for girls in my family, so thanks to family schtuff that name's pretty locked in... but how would the sibset Genevieve (nn Gene) and Janie sound? Does Gene and Janie sound weird together? Is Genevieve too "fancy" to be paired with Janie?

Also, what middle name would you pair with Genevieve?

O wow! using Genevieve is a cute way to incorporate yourself into the name of your child! :D I don't think that Neva Genevieve would have too many Vs in it.. plus, V is a pretty cool letter anyway B-)

i think you're right that Genevieve sounds good paired with a shorter name... be it (short first name) Genevieve (as you mentioned), or Genevieve (short middle name)... maybe Genevieve Maryse?
