2010 Name Predictions
A blog I read had a post about the most popular names of 2010 so far so I'm posting the links to the lists below for discussion:
Nameberry's Top 100 Boys' Names So Far
Nameberry's Top 100 Girls' Names So Far
Top 100 Most Unusual Names So Far (not Nameberry)
Personally I don't find many of the "most unusual names" so unusual as in they're not real names but Haitian (b) is an interesting 2010 name...
BTW here's the blog i got the links from. So far there are 66 comments with people's kids' names and requests not to steal.

I like many of the boy's Nameberry top 100, though. Literally almost all my favorites are on there. Oh well!
I don't get Haitian. I mean...I would find naming someone 'American' or 'Chinese' equally ridiculous, but why name someone after the inhabitant of a country that has an unusually miserable history?

I suppose most people will still associate it with the country, though.

Lyra and Søren
I think it's good that some of these more obscure names are climbing in popularity. It will give the next generation new names to pick from or new names to hate. Either way, we're refreshing the pool.

It's funny because I've always disliked the Laura-type names, but this one I like.

I like a lot of the names, but also am surprised at many of them. But I only glanced through in the first place.
