I'm totally psyche-ing myself up for a good verbal beating for this one, but I am really really into the name Magellan right now. I know an amazing woman who named her son Eli Magellan, and it is just perfect for him and such a gorgeous name (I think).

So--

What do you think? I think I do like it best as a middle name.

Also, I'd never even considered this as a name until she used it. What are some names that you've seen used that you hadn't even thought about? (I'm especially looking for fresh, cool, but established-sounding names--i.e. not any reports on the craziest spellings or random tying-together-of-syllables that you've ever seen.)

I'm not a big fan of Eli--but Magellan has a nice ring to it. :)

Someone once told me they had a son named Winter Drake.
