Is Tess a nickname for anything other than Theresa? I love Tess, but I'm not fond of Theresa (no offense to anyone).

Can Tess stand on its own? Would it age well?

I'm leaning toward making it middle name potential only just because I'm unsure if it can stand by itself.

Thanks in advance!

Contessa! LOL

I like Tessa. Strangely enough, there was a woman in the nursing home with my great grandparents everyone called Tess...Turns out her name was Elizabeth. It was something about Elizabeth = Betsy = Tess. Can't vouch for the logic LOL

Actually I've heard of this too (Tess for Elizabeth).

I guess the logic flows the same way Molly can be a nickname for Mary. Nicknames were derived much differently a long time ago.
