Mar. 21st, 2010 04:38 pmI've completely fallen in love with the name Emily lately, and I'm starting to consider putting it into my list of names I want to use in the future. I know it is sadly enough on the rise at home in Norway, but I just love it so much.
However, I have a second cousin who's daughter is named Emily. Although I've never actually met this little Emily, and I think it's probably at least 15 years since I last saw my second cousin, they send home-made calenders with the pictures of the kids to my grandma every year so it's not like there's absolutely no contact between the families.
Is it stupid of me to want to use the name when I know it's already "in-use" or is it okay to use it?
WDYT?

Emily is top 10, if not top 5 in most countries. It probably will rise in Norway, but if that doesn't bother you then you should definitely go ahead and use it if you love it.

Date: 2010-03-21 12:35 pm (UTC)I always used to dislike popular names, but lately all the names I've always loved have started to become more popular in Norway so it's kind of hard to avoid using them. I won't be having kids for many years still though, so I can always hope they're not as popular then :D
