Casadi for a cat

Recently I baby sat a little girl named Casadi, and her sister Deanna. But we're not talking about Deanna here, we're talking about Casadi *smile*

Well, I personally despise creative spellings, but I find myself completely in love with the sound and spelling of Casadi, because I adore the little girl. But would it be completely stupid to want to name a future child after a toddler with an awfully butchered spelling?

I know that I'm sixteen, and not planning on having children anytime soon, and I also realize that Casadi doesn't exactly fit along my name list, but I am completely in love with the name.

Cassidy would be better, or even Cassady, but I really, really like Casadi.

But here's the point of this post: I just got a new kitten (my seventh cat... ek!) and I want to name her Casadi, because I'm the type of person who names my animals after my favourite names.

Would it be stupid to put the name Casadi on a cat with that spelling, or should I just change it to Cassidy/Cassady and get over it?

Sorry if this seems rambled and confusing, but I didn't get any sleep last night, so, sorry.

Spell it however you want, and if you are dying to use it and don't see yourself using it on a child someday, then the perfect opportunity to use it is on your cat!

Plus, your cat doesn't have to learn to spell it. ;)

exactly! you can name a pet whatever you want and rarely are teased for it. pets are a good place to get out those names that you love but couldn't bring yourself to use on a human. my cat's name is artemis. i love the name artemisia, but come on, i can't name a KID that! :P

Who cares what everyone else things? Use it (for a kid, for a cat) if you want to. Don't let society or others (or your style) dictate spelling or your likes or dislikes. I like the spelling myself, and I don't even like the name.

Since it's a cat, go with Casadi. If it were for a child I would cringe, but for your kitty it's fine. :)

That took me awhile to figure out. I was saying it cah-SADE-ee. Like Sadie with a 'ca' on the front. I couldn't figure out why you were talking about creative spellings until you actually wrote Cassidy.

I'm sure the spelling of the name of a cat hardly matters. When will that be written down, other than on a vet record?

like people have said, your cat won't care, your kid might.

The spelling is actually really pretty... :)!
I named all my pets after god/goddess names that I adored (but would obviously NEVER use on a child!). What are the rest of your kitties names?

Use it for a cat quick before you can use it for a kid! Ick. It makes me want to say "Kuh-Sah-Dee".

Me too, but I think I like Kah-SAH-Dee better than KASS-Ih-Dee.
I like it for a cat. Not for kids though, too confusing.

Name your pet whatever you like, because it's your pet! Oh and I've also seen it spelled 'Cassity'.

Well, how many times are you going to write your cat's name? Not very often. Casadi is a fine name for a cat.

I say use your guilty pleasures (like Casadi, cause honestly that spelling is horrible) on a pet. It'll prevent you from using it on a child.

It makes me think it should mean something on its own. Casa+di. Casa di what?
