Something you just love so much that you don't care about the spelling being difficult or the fact that it's your fiance's ex's mother's brother's name. Something that you love enough to use despite weird looks and/or grief from family and friends.

Definitely Atticus. I mentioned to a few family members that I love this name and their response was, "are you going to hate your children or something??" But I absolutely love the name and I AM going to use it.

Why would they make that comment? The only Atticus I can think of is Atticus Finch, and he doesn't hate Jem and Scout. Maybe I have the wrong Atticus, then.

Lola. Everyone I know pronounces it with this stupid, slobby quasi-Southern accent that makes me cringe, and then asks me why I like it. I still think it's gorgeous, though, and I will use it (though I think I'll need to find something a bit more serious and stately for it to be a nickname for).

Also, Nadie (pronounced NAH-dyay) for a girl. I think it sounds so pretty, but it's the Spanish word for "no one". I most likely wouldn't use it for that reason, but I love it just the same, and would love to say "eff you, world".

I love the name Cadence (girl). But (1) it goes right along with Kaden, Hayden, Paiden, and Jayden and (2) the nickname would probably be cadee, and kadee is the name of a crazy ex girlfriend my husband had for years and years. so that's a definite no, but if all other circumstances were removed, i'd use it! i also have loved madison for years, but now it's too popular. i wanted a kid called Madison Luna and call her maddie luna. both of those are quite popular now. hmm.

when i was 5 or 6, i wanted a girl named Honeysuckle, and a boy named Honeybee.

My two favorite boy names, and the only two that I am considering.

Calvin- people always go "like Calvin and HOBBES!!!" No, and if you must link it to someone, it's Cal Ripken, Jr. I have never read a Calvin and Hobbes comic in my life!

Linus- everyone always wrinkles their noses at this one, but I love it, and it is special to me.

And my girl name, Simone. People actually say "that's a black name." Simone was my Italian grandfathers name, and I'm not really sure what a "black name" is anyway. I wasn't aware that certain names were limited to use by certain races!
