Date: 2006-07-06 01:34 am (UTC)you know, we take for granted so many things because of our interest in names. just spending a few hours around a forum like this introduces us to so many more possibilities than many people have in their "name bank" to consider. it also, i think, skews our perspective. we see, for example, "amelia" around a lot because name-lovers love it, so we assume it's "too trendy," when, really, most people don't encounter this name as often as we do. if i were to mention amelia to some of my friends, they might say, "oh that name is so old fashioned! who is named that any more! i really like the name madison."
