That may be true, but I think Annelies is a legit spelling in other countries. Pretty sure that was Anne Frank's real name.

I'm 99% sure Anneliese is the legit german version, and Annelise is the french.

I liked it until it became borderline popular/trendy. I still like it, but I'd never use it now.

Possibly stupid question but is it pronounced Ann-elise or Anne-lise? My sister's name is Annalise (which I guess is the same as Ann-elise)and it's probably my favorite name ever.

I don't like it at all. Then again, I don't really like old-fashioned names on girls in general...and all the Anneli(e)ses I know are 50+.

I like it. I first heard it on a girl in my JRN class, and I thought it was unique in a good way.

I adore this name!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My greatest fear is that it sounds too much like anal-ease, which is not ideal for a child's name. I REEEEAAAALLLY hope that I'm just over thinking...or just too familiar with adult products (I was a sexual health teacher for the criminal justice system for a minute LOL)
