Annelies makes us think of the phrase "Anne lies" and that is umm... not a good connotation for a name. :)

Mostly, you should be glad I asked. I like making sure because I remember that a portion of the posters here are dyslexic, so some misspellings are not intentional. :)

That may be true, but I think Annelies is a legit spelling in other countries. Pretty sure that was Anne Frank's real name.
