I'm curious:

What are your pets' names?
How about your beloved inanimate objects?

For a community of name lovers, those of us without children have to name something, right? :) My car is Roka and my old computer was Alexander. My fish have all been named after explorers: Magellan, Sir Francis Drake, etc. I just got a new computer so I'm looking for a strong-sounding Swedish male name, if you'd like to suggest something.

My cat was called Archie but he died recently, I have a Yorkshire Terrier called Harley (I would not name an animal that now, but hey I was 17 when I got him) and my kitten is called Phineas but we call him Finn/Finny for short.

most of my fish have all had aquatic names: Jacques, Calypso, Leviathan, and Jonah. After Jonah died, though, we kind of ended the water theme thing and named our new fish Kipp Steadman, nn Secretary (anyone who gets the reference wins at life).

Our cats are Domingo, Zorro, and Dante.

oh, my very first flat iron was named Norman, nn Normie. my very first cell phone was named Arthur. my first car was named Regis. I never named any appliances or cars or anything after that.

My cat's name is Couscous, but I didn't name him. I've actually never had the opportunity to name a pet.

I briefly decided that it would be funny to name my computer in high school, and called it Lucy, so my boyfriend started calling his Charlie. That didn't last long.

i didn't the oppertunity to name either of my pets, but i did give them their nicknames of booger (a dachshund, for his nasal problems) and obesity (a cat, named for her roundness).

my car's name is konrad - german car got a german name.

this computer is lichtenstein - all of our computers are named after artists. my first laptop was salvador.

I have three cats named Alfie, Ozzy, and T.O. they were all named after famous people. I also have three dogs, and their names are Maisy, Sophie, and Chico.

the only inanimate object of mine that has a name is my iPod...it's named Barney because it's the same color as the dinosaur. my younger brother noted that it was "Barney purple" one day and it went from there, lol.

My dogs have musical names: Norma Jean (named after the band), Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby (named after the Beatles' songs, obvious is obvious).

I call my car '5 by 5' because that was Faith's catchphrase on BTVS. And my laptop is named Daisy because when I got it, I had just gotten the new Brand New album and it came with stickers. Needless to say, I stuck one to my laptop and it said Daisy on it so that's what I call it.

In the past, I've named pets after Star Trek and LOTR characters. I like pop culture reference names that I could never actually use on a child, I guess.

I have two cats - Estella (called Stella almost all the time) and Magnolia (nickname Maggie). I had a fish named Finley (rip). His nickname was obviously, Finn.

My current cats are Sheena, Marshmallow, and Apollo. Sheena and Apollo were named by me and my brother - both after video game characters. Marshmallow was my sister's pick. (For the record, she's not a white cat, nor is she fluffy.) We also have two fish named Stickytail and Mama Luigi, named by my other brother.

My phone, iPod, Kindle, and PSP are Yuri, Schwann, Estelle, and Rita respectively - all after characters from the same game.

My laptop is Contrafactum.

I think that's all I've named. I should name my other game systems....

My dog's name is Oliver. I like to name animals with names I like but wouldn't use on a child. I want a girl dog next and as long as her personality doesn't conflict she'll be Lily.

I only name objects that require names, like my iPod is Rupert and my iPhone is Eleanor.

my husband has a beta fish and two snails at his work, which are Beta.Net (fish), and the snails are named AVG and Norton. Beta.Net is blue & red, AVG is grey/black, and Norton is yellow.

My dogs have always been SPCA dogs so I've never gotten to name one, but the fact that my childhood dog was named Ruby has made me unable to use that name on a kid, no matter how much I like it.

I had hermit crabs that for a while had a food theme going (crab legs, crabby patty, king crab, etc.).

But my cars have been Sparky, Molly, and Natalie. My husband's more yuppie cars have been Todd and Bobbi.

We've had three cats, Ivan (we honestly didn't realise he was The Terrible when we got him), Jassy and Lacey, and a cockatoo called Billy Jo (well, formally; most of the time she was just Cocky :) I also names my parent's two sibling cats Matilda and Maud - when Matilda turned out to be a boy (hey, I was very young) he just became Charlie Matilda.

Our previous cars were named Isaac and Perry aka the Yellow Peril :) Sis didn't want to name the current one, but I call it Ulysses. We don't name everything, but Sis's piano is Cecilia and my mp3 player is Mabs. My computer at work is called FRED (for Flamin' Ridiculous Electronic Device) - my home one FREDerica :)

Right now I have three birds:
Felicity, Number 1, and Rindo. We used to have Alice, Cnøttet (translated to Tiny, because he really was tiny), Trixie, Triton, and Winterprince, who was actually a girl bird.

We used to have a tarantula, she just died :( Her name was Lennart Rene, which is a boys name, but we thought it was awesome to have a female spider with a male name. Don't ask, I didn't name her haha.

Ummm what else. My old computer was Tor Amalie, which just showed that it was no sex at all. My old iPod was named Emily, when she broke I got a new one for free (warranty <3) who I named Madeline.

Our car is named Lucifer hahaha.

My new computer just doesn't have a name, never found a name suiting her, really.
