I stumbled upon the name Zoelie recently. It seemed stupid at first, but I'm also intrigued. How does one pronounce it? Are there any children in the universe with this name? WDYT?

I kind of find it appealing. Argh.

Zehn-a-ede. Here's the thinkbabynames page on it, but it's very wrong on the pronunciation... at least if you use the trema. The accent aiguë should make a long a sound out of that e (like French ez, er, etc,) but it wouldn't be a very long long a and would be just about indistinguishable from a short e so just Zen would probably work. The trema indicates that the a and i should be pronounced separately (think noël). So short a and short i (which, in French is an English long e) and then pronounce the d because of the e behind it.

It's so lovely. I apologize for the book. Pronunciation is fun. As a historical note, Napoleon's brother named a daughter Zénaïde.
