I love when it happens! lol

I had a dream last night where I'd given birth to a baby girl, and her name was Mary.
When I brought her with me to some relatives' house, my mom introduced her as Veronica May, indicating that she hadn't paid any attention when I'd told her my daughter's name.

WDYT of the names?

I honestly don't where I got them from, Mary is indeed a name that I like, but would never use, and I could say the same about Veronica May, which is even less my style.

I'm a Mary, and I don't want to use Mary as a name for a daughter if I have one someday. It's a classic name, but I hated all the Mary nursery rhyme references when I was little. Mary is also a very popular name in my grandma's nursing home.

I don't care too much for May. Veronica and Mary, I love. I would use either one.

Veronica is pretty, however I strongly dislike the nn Ronnie. My husband's aunt is a Veronica nn Ronnie and I'm sure in our family that is the nickname they would pick. I like May as a middle but I was born in May so I might be biased. I like the name Day as a modern alternative to a May middle name (Day is a family last name but I think it works for anyone).

I like Mary. There aren't many Marys born these days so a child would either love it or hate it. I named my daughter a kind of similar name (Jane) and so far I feel good about the choice. There will be some inevitable middle school name teasing but honestly who avoids that? Pretty much any name can be used as teasing fodder.

I agree with what you say here about any name can be turned into teasing somehow. I like Veronica, but yeah- I don't like Ronnie for a nn now that I think about it.

Maybe if you had a nickname in mind that you could start using right away, you could avoid Ronnie? Vera, Nikki, Nica, something like that?

I love the name Mary and well I ave over and over considered using it but my family might end up calling her Maria which would drive me more than a little nuts because I hate the way Maria sounds.

Veronica and May are other no nos for me. Veronica is fine but just NMS and May/Mae I loathe.

Veronica May is exactly my style, and May IS going to be the middle name of my future daughter, if I ever have one. It was my grandma's name.
Veronica May and Veronica Mary sound good (Mary was my grandmother on the other side)
Veronica is nice. It fits in with my favorite "style" of names, but I prefer Valentina or Victoria for "V" names.
