I did have a quick scan back through recent posts, although if I've missed this and it's already been posted I apologise.

Over here in the UK there is a show called The X Factor which is pretty much the same as American Idol - Simon Cowell is one of the judges. Anyway, as with Idol, it's massive, and the final last week saw 19.1 million people tune in to see Joe McElderry named this years winner.

The reason I mention it here is because some of his supporters took it to a whole new level:

I think that's fairly ridiculous. Are they going to change their name back in 2 weeks when this is all over?

Don't you have to go through the court system to change your name, and have a reason for doing it?

One of my friends recently changed her legal gender AND name, and from I understand, it was quite easy and with minimal fees involved.
