Inspired by the last post

I had to look up Renesmee - I've not read the Twilight books or seen the films - and wiki broke down how her name was created. So, here is your happy Monday challenge!

Take names from your family/SO's family and make up some names LOL!

I have always kind of liked Kendra as a sort of combination of my parents' names (Kenneth & Debra).

[identity profile] morningapproach.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Kendra myself. :)

the principal of my high school's last name was Paulella. :)

[identity profile] pinkysmith.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
i can only think of one: Marilu or Marylou for my grandmothers Mary and Louise

Marizlee if i combine their full names (Mary Lee and Rizpah)

[identity profile] bright-eyes-jh.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
My parent's names are David and Sheila, so I think Delia would come close to sounding like a good portmanteau. I like the name anyway...ooh, it might have to go on my list.

[identity profile] harvestlunacorn.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Johnya - John and Rya(my s/o and myself)

[identity profile] ohhvelocitygirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I love loren/laurens/lauren on a boy but now it feels weird. We need to hook your dad and my grandma up and they can be weird together and stop touching our things.

[identity profile] harvestlunacorn.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
If it makes you feel any better his name is actually Ralph. lol :)
He hates when people call him Mrs because they think Loren is a girls name.

[identity profile] blueberryeyes17.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I always thought Dawnalisa would make a cool middle name for a girl but my husband would neverrrr go for that - Dawnalysce and Lisa are our mom's names.

[identity profile] thellamaqueen.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Rogeth or Kenner, from Kenneth and Roger (my dad & FIL)
Libra, from Debra and Linda (my mom and MIL)
Jetherlyn, my sister and SILs (Kaitlyn, Heather, & Jessica)

Marys, from Mary and Gladys (my grandmothers' names)

[identity profile] thellamaqueen.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, and Krystin, from Krysta & Kevin (my name + my husband's name)

[identity profile] morningapproach.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Lindra (Linda & Sandra - MIL & Mom)
Lora (Lori and Sandra - Step-Mom & Mom)
Lira (Linda and Lori - MIL & Step-mom)
Patram (Patrick and William - FIL & Dad)
Willick (William and Patrick)
Stefan (Stefanie and Ryan)

[identity profile] renishas.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Adileen- Collen, my MiL and Adilfa, my mom.
Jochelle- Joshua, my husband and Michelle, me.

Those are the only ones I can think of that don't sound completely insane. I still think they sound a little insane.

[identity profile] ohhvelocitygirl.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thari - thad (dad) and teri(mom)
Thonna - thad(gf) and donna(gm)
Jamina - james(gf) and virginia(gm)

And I think any combination of me and my boyfriend would come out as a weirdly spelled version of our names.
Danie, danieal, mikelle? Michelle maybe?

[identity profile] doxerssoldout.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
monicana = monica + anna (my grandmothers)

my mother apparently told my grandparents that was what she was going to name me as a joke. i kind of wish she'd done it, i like that name!

[identity profile] pinkysmith.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
or anica

[identity profile] cybeleadam.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
For a girl:
Célinette or Henrina (after my grand-mothers Célina et Henriette)
Aldine (after my parents Albert and Claudine)

For a boy:
Jobert or Alseph (after my grand-fathers Albert and Joseph)
Claubert (after my parents)

lol

Also, someone who never could remember that I was Isabelle and my sister was Véronique decided he would call us Isanique et Vérobelle, so he would be sure to have half the name right every time. lol

Janbeth, Elizice - Elizabeth, Janice
Algar, Alry, Gaex, Garlex - Gary, Alex

[identity profile] velkoria.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Melissa - I've always sort of thought Monica and Eloisa could be turned to that (Monica = me and my mom and Eloisa = my middle and grandmother's first)

Malena - Monica/Mariam and Elena (me and mom's first/sister's middle + Mom's middle name)

Moireen = Maureen = Mariam + Irene (sister's first and middle)

Iona = Irene + Monica

Riona - Irene + Monica

Callena - Monica + Elena (a Callena is a flower over here)

I admit that these go more by merging sounds but I was going for names I'd actually consider and I must admit I kind of like some of these =)

[identity profile] hoboheart.livejournal.com 2009-12-09 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I know people with all of these names lol!

[identity profile] hoochiehoops.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)

Hahahaha Reneesme Carlie makes me twitch a little just looking at it. Yikes.

How about Matka? Or Kathrew? Or Rynnew has a nice "ew" sound it in. ;) (That would be a mash up of my husband and I's names, Matthew and Kathryn.)

Nicpa, Naige, Cholaige, or Laspa? (Nicholas + Paige, my parents.)

Rynnew Cholaige sounds like some awful disease.

Jeron (me and my DB, Aaron)

[identity profile] xx-imagination.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I always try to do this with friends' first and middle names:
Amanda Lee = Amalee = Amelie
Nicole Alexandra = Nicolex = Nicolette, Nicola

Melissa and Maribeth (sisters) = Marissa or Elisabeth
Katherine and Louis (parents) = Louka = Luka, Lorine = Lauren
Sanford and Rae (paternal gparents) = Raisin? haha
Mary and Joseph (maternal gparents) = Jory, Marj
Mary and Rae (grandmothers) Marae, Raemy = Marie, Ramie
Sanford and Joseph (grandfathers) = Sanjo = Sancho?
Darrell and Kaitlyn (bf and me) = Karrell = Carol?

Jacquelope - Jacqueline (husband's mother) and Penelope (my mother)

Peneline would be the way it would work, Renesmee style, but Jacquelope sounds like "cantaloupe" or "antelope" and I find that cuter.

Jahelm - James Sr. (husband's birth father) and Wilhelm (my father)

Wilhames in the reverse way.

Emehelm - Emmett (husband's last stepfather) and Wilhelm. We could almost make Emma out of that.

Wilmet - Above, reversed.

These are so bad! So far I've got a Cantaloupe Antelope, something that would seem ridiculous on a white boy, a Whippet and other things I'll think up eventually.

Anaella - Ann (my maternal grandmother) and Adella (husband's maternal grandmother)

Ilsella - Ilsa (my paternal grandmother) and Adella

We don't know the names of any of my husband's other grandparents.

(Reply to this)

[identity profile] itspixiedust.livejournal.com 2009-12-09 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
No SO for me, so...

My parents: Alan + Lana = Alana, Nala (that was so easy!)

Me & my sister: Christine + Tamara = Christara

My brothers: Thomas + John = Johnas, Masohn

My grandmothers: Dorothy + Evelyn = Dorolyn

My grandfathers: Edward + Owen = Eden

[identity profile] rubie-dubidoux.livejournal.com 2009-12-10 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
My parents are Mary Beth and James, so Jerry and maybe Jeth (short for Jethro)

My brother and I are Andrew and Lesley, so Ainsley? L'Drew?

My grandparents are Stephen and Shirley... Steeley? Shurfin'?

My great-grandparents were Florence and Arden... Fartin', Arrence

This is hard.
