But he was born and raised in the Dominican Republic..although hes been living here since the age of 12 he never really got around learning much english. He can speak it but not so well, He can understand it but only to a limit.

So were trying to have a baby, and he doesnt want to name the baby either girl or boy names that he is going to have a problem pronouncing..what are your suggestions on simple names for a girl and boy? PLEASE HELP...TY..xoxo..Lis

story of my life... basically I speak 4 languages while the rest of my family, sans sister and brother, speak 1. That language being Spanish so I tend to think of names that they can pronounce and I can pronounce happily in at least three languages. Of course I tend to fall in love with names that can only be pronounced in ONE language... that's what middle names are for though!

Anywho... why don't you and your fiance make a separate list of names and then share the lists and see what you come up with? That usually helps a ton. Also, remember that not every name sounds the same in both languages. Take my sister, for example, she is named Irene and you say that in both languages and it's pretty different but still, the name is the 'same' so watch for that some =)

P.S.: Is there any reason your fiance doesn't speak English? 12 seems like a good time to pick up a language.

I like those ^.^ I like how Aidan you can say in Spanish so that one is actually on my list too! I am not a fan of Bella in Spanish but love it in English (like Eve and Rose, love them in English but in Spanish they bug me greatly). Sofia is super cute, no matter the languages hee hee.

I asked because my sister and I picked it up and our parents don't speak it to us either, they never did but I guess it also depends on the person... I know people who have lived in the US for years longer than my sis and me and they didn't pick it up and I've always wondered what's up with that. I think my sibs and I just really enjoy learning languages so we actually try and learn them, not see it as something we have to do but something we want to do.
