Your Children and Future Children
Nov. 12th, 2009 01:21 amWhat are your kids' names? What are your future kids' names? If you're not sure, just pick the name you would use if you had a baby right now (even if you know you would change your mind later). Feel free to choose multiple names in case of multiple children. You can include reasons if you'd like, or just list the names. Also, assume that your husband/boyfriend or wife/girlfriend doesn't get to veto your future names - pick whatever you personally like.
I don't have any kids, but I know already I would like two kids someday, preferably a girl and a boy. However, I also know that life doesn't always work out that way, so I'll choose two boys' names and two girls' names just in case.
I am already sure of my boys names. Girls are a little harder for some reason.
Boys:
Noel Philip
Julian Charles
Girls:
Again I'm not sure but these are the names I would choose if I found out I was giving birth tomorrow (LOL, scary thought).
Rosemary Kathryn
Evelyn Pearl
I have loved the names Noel and Julian for years. The only thing I'm uncertain about is whether I would spell it Julian or Julien (I think I prefer it with an A though). Charles is one of my favorite boys names, along with one of my best friends' names. Philip is a family name - my great-grandfather and grandfather's first names and my father's middle.
Rosemary and Evelyn are classic names that have cute nicknames - Rosie/Rose and Evie. I also like Rosemary because Mary is my boyfriend's mom's name and assuming we end up having kids together, it would be a nice tribute to her. Kathryn is my mom's name. Pearl is just a name I love, but wouldn't want to use as a first name.
How about you?

Date: 2009-11-12 07:00 am (UTC)Colette Antonia
Annabel Paige
Ruth Emily(?)
Rosemary Helen
Frederick Waldo/John/John Waldo
Cecil Allan
Linus Joel
My ideal number would be four - six kids. I think I'd like five, actually - three girls and two boys. That would be totally ideal, though, and obviously I will be totally happy no matter what. :D
Antonia would be honoring my boyfriend and brother (both of them have the middle name Anthony). Paige and Ruth are both names my boyfriend likes that have really grown on me too - enough to use them. I'm iffy on Emily as a mn but it does honor my great-grandmother. (And popularity for mns doesn't bother me.) Rosemary would honor several people, and so would Helen. Colette and Annabel I just love.
John honors my grandfather, and Waldo would be after a prominent music educator around here. I like double mns and I think John Waldo is kind of snazzy. Allan would be for my late father (I will definitely use his name as a mn at some point, possibly even for Frederick). Linus Joel isn't for anyone, I just like it. :D (We do not have many good boys' names in my family.)

Date: 2009-11-12 07:06 am (UTC)Isadora Claire
Eve Shiloh
Felix Grey
James Dietrich
I'm sure they're subject to change but they've been solid for quite some time. The middle name for James changes around a bit--sometimes it's Dietrich, sometimes it's Isaac, sometimes it's Aaron.

No real significance for any of them. I just like them.

Date: 2009-11-12 07:31 am (UTC)Isabel Maree
Asher Daniel
Asher has been my favourite since forever (I hate that it's become so popular!) and Isabel was a name he suggested around four years ago, and it has really grown on me.
Maree is my middle name and my mum's middle name; Daniel is the SO and his father's middle name.
I originally wanted my Dad's middle name in there too (Asher Daniel James) but since Dad isn't fond of it I've been seriously thinking about using Josephine/Jocelyn/Josie to honor him (Dad goes by Joe).
The remainder of my list is:
Josephine Lily or Jocelyn Lily (for my dad; Lily was my favourite name until my cousin was born)
Maeve Claire (two names I like)
Darcy Kenneth (I like Darcy; Kenneth is after my late grandfather and my brother's middle name)
Ruben Francis (I like Ruben; Francis for my grandfather and my other brother's middle name)
I'd like to fit Sylvia in as a middle name for a daughter somewhere, but our last name would also start with an 'S' so it's hard to find a nice, flowing combo. I'm still working on it!

Date: 2009-11-12 07:47 am (UTC)Elizabeth Deanna
Alison Lucille
Travis James
Eli Blake
Cole Harrison
for the girls, the first names are all names I like, and the middle names are all for family members. my mom's middle name is Lynn, which is why I would spell Madeline like Madelyn. (I would use Lynn, but she hates it and has forbidden me to use it, idk why.) Deanna is my maternal grandmother's first name, and Lucy was the name of my stepfather's grandmother who he was very close to. so that's where I get Lucille.
as for the boys, it's a bit different. James is my stepfather's name, so I would use James for him. Eli Blake is just a combo I like, with no significance at all. as for my last name, Cole would have been my name if I was a boy and I've always loved it for that reason, and Harrison is a way for me to honor my maternal grandfather, who is like a second father to me.

Date: 2009-11-12 08:11 am (UTC)Maybe. A lot of the names I like have gone up in popularity the past few years, so... =/
No middle names as of yet, since I don't ever think about them/care. I'm getting the first names- boyfriend/hubbie can have the middle names if he wants.

Date: 2009-11-12 10:53 am (UTC)Our son's name is Benjamin Nicholas "Ben". If my husband had no input, then I'd name future children:
Margaret Evelyn "Maggie/Meg/Mamie"
William Francis "Will"
Anne Rosalie "Nan" or Elizabeth Rosalie "Lizzie/Nell/Effie"
James Philip "Jamie/Jem"
But considering DH, instead of William it'd be Charles, and he'd probably lean towards Elizabeth over Anne.

Reagan Brielle

future kids names
Date: 2009-11-12 01:08 pm (UTC)Lucia Johanna
Kalina Susannah
Juliana Victoria
for boys:
Ethan
Cian
Rowan
I love love love the name Lucia (Loo-sha) and it's in honour of the violinist Lucia Micarelli (how she pronounces the name as well)...Johanna is after my mom Joanne (who was named after her grandmother Johanna)
I've thought Kalina was a beautiful name ever since I heard it, it means 'rosebud' Susannah is after my best friend (and means 'Lily')
Juliana is after the former Queen of the Netherlands (A tribute to my dutch heritage) and Victoria after the former Queen of England - both named that i love.
the boys names are just names that I like...no middle names yet.
On a more amusing note, after i told my best friend my girls names she decided the first one would be like my mother (as she'd be named after her), the second would be a hippy-esque child being named flower-y names and the third named after queens would be a big drama queen lol.

Date: 2009-11-12 01:15 pm (UTC)First names are just names I like and are not (usually) after people, though I sometimes fall in love with a name because of a book/TV show character, or because I hear it on a person I really like. But I usually don't pick the names AFTER those characters/people -- they just make the name appeal to me even more. There is one exception to this, though...
If I had kids tomorrow, I would name them (in birth order):
Jude Michael - Michael is after my older brother
Elliot Mark - Mark is after a close friend
Asher James - James is my favorite boys' name, but I can't use it as a first name because it's also my uncle's name, #1, and I don't like him, and also, #2, I hate the nickname Jim which everyone defaults to. James is also the first name of a close friend/mentor.
Samuel Timothy (Sam) - Timothy is after my dad.
Margaret Renee (Meg) - My only exception to the first names not being after people. Margaret would be after my grandmother, who is...amazing. Renee is my mother's middle name.
Norah Anne - Anne is after my best friend/mentor/second mother, and it's also just one of my favorite names.
Eliza Mae - Mae is the middle name of a close friend.
Lucy Beth - Beth is after my godmother, who died a few years ago. The extra bonus of this name is that she would have the same initials (LB) as my best friend/non biological sister, who I would love to honor with a middle name but can't because her name is the same as mine, except spelled different (Lindsey) and I feel like that would be really weird. And I can't use her middle name like I did with my mom because it's her mother's maiden name and that doesn't work, either. So initials. Probably nobody would ever find this out, but it would make me feel good.

Date: 2009-11-12 01:18 pm (UTC)Girls:
Penelope Elaine
Genevieve Ann
(I want my first daughters MN to be Elaine, which was my mothers MN. I think it's only fair then to make any second daughters MN Ann, after the MIL's MN).
Boys:
Malcolm Daniel
Henry Matthew
(Daniel is my dad, Matthew is the FH. It's tradition in their family to give the first son the fathers name as a MN. I respect that, but Malcolm Matthew doesn't work, so we'll compromise).

Liam Charles (My dad is william, so liam is a nod to him and I just like charles)
But there are so many more names I love, and my husband has already vetoed Liam.

girls:
Lily Alice (this is my favorite girls name and I have always wanted to use it ... but my niece has accumulated the nickname Lily and I am so heartbroken ... hopefully it fades away considering she is only a year and a half.)
Robin Grey
Ivy Helena Mary
Lark Isabella
I will admit that my naming style is kinda weird/kinda trendy but then again ... I like them anyways.

Date: 2009-11-12 06:36 pm (UTC)Lennon Richard [mn is after my brother]
'something' Edward [mn is my grandfather's] (fn might be Finnegan, Miles, River, Rowan, or something else)
Harper Lily/Jane [mn after my mother/BF]
Esme Liliana/Charlotte [mn after my mother/great grandfather]
I'd like three kids, with one of each gender, so hopefully that'll work.
