My 18 Children

In a discussion about the Duggars, someone challenged the community in general to come up with good names for 18 kids. So I decided to do that! I used an online "coin-flipper" to decide on the boy-girl order and tried to come up with each name individually, as if, although I planned to have a big family, I was never sure exactly which child would be the last. (Incidentally, there is no way in heck I'm having 18 kids. I'm thinking 4, 5 tops.) I didn't try to match up particularly well with my last name because they would have my husband's last name and he doesn't exist yet!

Seeing how I'm never going to have this many kids, toward the end, I started running out of names that would fit.

Yes, that's where I got the name Aldys from. I won't have 17 children or make it to 13 girls, so I've nothing to worry about. I love the name. It sounds like a feminized European take on the neutral Alis, in my opinion.

You're right, Ula and Eulalia do sound too similar, but that's where nicknames come in. That, and I won't have 18 children or make it to 14 girls.

Fertility is definitely a joke.

No-longer-Samantha decided on Holly, and couldn't come up with a middle name but already liked the suggestion of Soleil. I thank you for the compliments.
