My 18 Children

In a discussion about the Duggars, someone challenged the community in general to come up with good names for 18 kids. So I decided to do that! I used an online "coin-flipper" to decide on the boy-girl order and tried to come up with each name individually, as if, although I planned to have a big family, I was never sure exactly which child would be the last. (Incidentally, there is no way in heck I'm having 18 kids. I'm thinking 4, 5 tops.) I didn't try to match up particularly well with my last name because they would have my husband's last name and he doesn't exist yet!

Okay, that was HARD. Our family's naming convention involves an "E" middle name, so I tried to do that for all the names...and really ran out of good E names by the end. I used the Duggar family as a model so the kids are gendered (and twinned) in the Duggar order.

Awesomely enough, I like all these names, except Leland. (Not all the middles, but those don't matter as much.) Of course, since some of these are ones I chose, it makes sense that I'd like them, but you also used a couple that I would have used if I'd had more girls--Leah, Miranda, maybe Margaret. We seem to be near-twins, stylistically!

I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel with the E-names. We're actually thinking about discontinuing the pattern if we have another child because it's so hard to find good ones that work with my husband's last name (some of these don't, but I figured since it's theoretical they don't need last names that mesh).
