Natalia and Raleigh
Oct. 10th, 2009 11:03 pmMy SO and I have been discussing names a lot lately, though we have no intention of having children in the near future.
I think a lot of his names clash with his Armenian, difficult to pronounce last name. One of the few he has suggested that I like is Natalia. My only issue with it is the lack of nicknames . What nickname would you give a Natalia? Nat or Natty just remind me of the of the bug (gnat) or the beer of poor college students' choice, Natural (Natty) Light. I would hate for one of these to catch on and for her to go by it.
A name I came across this summer that I thought was interesting is Raleigh (pronounced like Raleigh, NC). I thought it was weird at first but it has grown on me. WDYT?
Thanks!

Date: 2009-10-11 04:58 am (UTC)I really don't see a problem with Nat or Natty - it sounds nicknamey enough not to think of the bug, I've never even heard of that beer before. I really like the name, and other nicknames could be Tali/Tally or Lia. Or maybe even Ali(I'm prning it like Ollie).
As for Raleigh, as much as I love the city, I am not a fan of it as a name for a person
