Ever have a name just stick to you that's completely not your style, but you just LOVE it? Despite the classic choices on my lists for boys (Walter, Charles) and girls (Helena, Grace, Kate), there are names I absolutely love that couldn't be farther away from my style. Dated, trendy, even unisex! But I still love them, despite myself. Alas! =D

GIRLS
Bailey - I admit to loving this for a girl despite my general hatred of boys names for girls. I like it as a boys name too, I just think it has such a nice sound to it, and I find it to have a sort of a tomboyish quality rather than being super masculine.
Gray - This is probably my worst, because I seriously love it enough to use it, though I'd never let myself. (Maybe as a middle name. Doesn't Helena Gray sound pretty? =p) I love this name just as much for a boy.
Sally - a direct result of my love of Peanuts, I've always loved the name Sally. I think it's sweet and strong, and although most people think of it as dated, I just think it's pretty.
Linney - I was lamenting to a friend that the name Laura, which I think is very pretty, doesn't work very well in Hebrew at all (Lo Ra means 'not bad'), and she humorously suggested that I just name the kid Linney instead. Now I'm obsessed; hopefully it'll pass soon.
Kayla - not such a sin, I don't think, except that it really is SO popular. I like it best as a nickname for Michaela, though--no unique spellings.

BOYS
Lander - a person I'd very much like to honour by naming a child after him is named Yehoshua Englander. I don't like Yehoshua, or the English version, Joshua, but I have this weird obsession with surnames as given names for boys, and Englander sounded nice. It took about two days for me to fall in love with the nickname, Lander. This is also a name I like well enough to use.
Archer - people become absolutely furious with me when I mention this name, for some reason, but I absolutely LOVE it. I think it has such a strong sound to it, but most people imply that the kid will get pummeled at preschool.
Keaton
Anderson
Merritt
Wilder
--the direct result of my passion for surnames mentioned above. I know.

Haha. It feels good to get it off my chest. =D

I'd say Gemma's middle class here, i wouldnt say its down market.
Lol, no the only helena's i know are posh! I don't hear that name that often really though.
Ok the names i think are posh (this is only my opinion though) are: Frances, Victoria, Georgina, Eleanor (prn. El-eh-NOR, as opposed to El-uh-nuh), George, Henry, Elliot. Umm thats all the posh names i can think of right now lol.
And names i think are not posh are: Jade, India (ughh and i love it so much lol), Chantelle, Mackenzie, Makenna, Josh (its not down market its just SO popular), Brooklyn (yeah i know a couple of boys named this, ew.) and i cant think of anymore boy names!
