After a lot of posts about creative names and spellings and such...

Do YOU have a creative name? Do you know someone who does? How does she/he deal with it?

The only one I can think of is a kid I work with. He goes by Jeff; that's the spelling he has on his name tag, the spelling he uses on Facebook.. the spelling I would assume he had if I hadn't seen the legal version written on the schedule: Jephthe. Oy.

My name is Lorien (middle name Ellen), from Lord of the Rings. Since the movies have come out more people recognize it, but pretty much everyone my whole life has had a hard time with pronounciation even though it is phonetic. I get a lot of variations of Lorien or sometimes people hear me say my name as "Gloria" in a crowded room or if they're hard of hearing. I usually say Lorien... pronounced like DeLorean. I LOVE having a unique name, though. :-)
