After a lot of posts about creative names and spellings and such...

Do YOU have a creative name? Do you know someone who does? How does she/he deal with it?

The only one I can think of is a kid I work with. He goes by Jeff; that's the spelling he has on his name tag, the spelling he uses on Facebook.. the spelling I would assume he had if I hadn't seen the legal version written on the schedule: Jephthe. Oy.

My name: Cady (rhymes with lady). It's my grandmother's maiden name. I get called Caddy, Cody, Candy, etc. all the time. It's frustrating, but I love that my name isn't plain old Katie, and that it has family significance.

I'm a teacher, so I've seen some names in my time. :) The most creative was Ky-Jaya. I tried to type out how to pronounce it and I can't even figure out what letters to use for the J sound. :/

I got your name right before I saw the lady part. Doesn't seem that hard! But I find it funny that, I'm guessing, someone just figured it was misspelled and called you candy.

That one's the worst. It just sounds like a stripper name to me! (no offense if someone is actually named Candy here...).

The funniest incident was when I arrived at summer lacross camp, and they had taken it for "Cody," AND somehow figured I'd checked the wrong gender box, because I was placed in the boys' dorm. Ugh!

That's kind of even more stupid, LOL. Yes, you must have misspelled your name AND checked the wrong gender box. I wouldn't want that person overseeing the kids were that the case, lol.

How did you feel when Mean Girls game out? I'm sure there are 100x more Cadys in the world now. Or, at least, Cadence nn Cady.

I still haven't even seen it, though I meant to, as I love Tina Fey and hey, it has my name! :) I felt good about it, actually, because I thought it might make it more common and therefore people would have less trouble with it.

And yes, I think there were a lot of Cadences nn Cady, but I haven't met one yet. Maybe they are all still little girls just entering kingergarten now. :)
