How do you pronounce Olivia?
I dont like how it sounds when its said as "Oh-Livia"
I do like how it sounds if its said like "Uh-Livia"
How do you say it? just outta curiosity. It seems kinda stupid and like such a small thing,
but for some reason it really makes a weird difference to me :/ i dunno why.
I kinda have this same issue with my own name which is simply Tara :P
I have people say it either like "Tear-uh" , "Taa-ruh" <--i prefer this one, and also like "Tar-uh" which I hate.
Also here are some of my top names:
Avery Carmella (Ava)
Tessa Carmella (Tess)
Leo
James (Jamie)

Date: 2009-09-05 03:17 pm (UTC)I've seen it spelled Alivia, but just like I've seen Elizabeth spelled Alizabeth.
I blame accents for this.
Carmella is a common mispelling of Carmela.

Date: 2009-09-05 03:21 pm (UTC)Just like Michelle can be spelled Michele also. Ive seen both.
Ive thought about, if I used Olivia, spelling it Alivia, but that doesn't exactly look right to me oddly enough lol. Its not my top name anyways, I was just wondering what others said it like :)

Date: 2009-09-05 03:45 pm (UTC)But having lived all 25 yrs of my life in Italy, I can tell you no one spells it Carmella here, so it must be a mistyping down the line.

Date: 2009-09-05 03:47 pm (UTC)I pronounce it both ways, though, because my accent is part Northern, part Southern. just depends on who I'm talking to, really.

Date: 2009-09-05 08:32 pm (UTC)I also say Tar-uh, unless I know beforehand that someone pronounces it Tear-Uh, but I've only met two Taras, so I rarely say the name.
I love the name Tess, not so much Tessa.

Date: 2009-09-05 09:43 pm (UTC)Does that mean that people pronounce Oliver like "oh-liver" too and I'm just oblivious? Both of those names begin with "olive" ... like the food, and are pronounced as such.
Please excuse my total shock, hah.

Avery Carmella sounds better than Tessa Carmella, but I prefer Avery on a boy. ^^
