several questions...
Sep. 2nd, 2009 03:42 pmI stumbled upon this community and figured, why not:)
My name is Savanah Wavie Marie. (Wavie is a namesake)
My son's name is Elijah Rafe BoDien (both middle names are namesakes)
My daughter's name is Amelia Rose Marie (Rose is a namesake)
WDYT?
My husband hates my son's middle names, and thinks two middle names are stupid.
I'm pregnant again. Our names are Collette and Elliott. We only have Henry (namesake) as a middle name. We are at a loss for middle names.
He doesn't want two middle names again, but with two kids with two, would that be fair?
Second, he's thinking more of a girl namesake of Elizabeth, his mom's name. But she gave her daughter that as a middle name, I don't want to "double it up" if you will. And I don't like Elizabeth. His other thought is Kylene, his older sister, she named her daughter Kyla....WDYT? (I think it's stupid, heh) I'm completely against it. My great aunt's health is failing, this makes me sad; her name is Violet....Collette Violet ______?
Sorry it's all so confusing:)

Elliott Matthew Henry
Elliott Robert Henry
I wouldn't put Violet right after Collette. It's a very harsh sound at the end of both names.
Collette Elizabeth Violet
Collette Eliza Violet
Collette Elise Violet

Date: 2009-09-03 12:44 am (UTC)The only name out of all of yours that I really like is Savanah, but even then I only like with the two N's. I think that if he hates both of your son's middle names, then maybe you should give him Elizabeth or Kylene. Collete Violet sounds too similar, the endings are too close for me.

Date: 2009-09-03 01:27 am (UTC)My name comes with an interest (bad?) story. I was supposed to be Savannah but the nurse argued with my mom that it was too long and to drop an N and my mom got sick of arguing with her and caved.
I think the unfairness is my husband, John, wanted a Jr., I refused and compromised with a middle name, so Elliott John Henry, but then he decided if he gave a child his name it would be like playing favorites and dropped it. I like my middle names and wanted to pass the oddness down to all of my kids. For John to say he doesn't like two middle names so the last baby has only one is kind of like saying that baby is his favorite. Odd, I know, but that's kind of how I saw it.

Date: 2009-09-03 01:54 am (UTC)I think Collette Violet is really pretty. And I agree with someone else's suggestion to use Isabel as a variant of Elizabeth. I think Collette Isabel Violet works well, actually. We are honoring an Elizabeth by using Isabel for our first child, who will be debuting in six weeks :)
Congrats on the pregnancy! Good luck!

Date: 2009-09-03 01:57 am (UTC)I had two friends with no middle names. One was mildly obsessed with names and asked just about every person in school if they had a middle name in his own personal poll, LOL.
