I really hope I dont have a baby soon, my favourite names change on a daily basis.  I would so be one of those parents who let their kid go nameless for a week, hehehe.

BOYS:
Tobias: God is great
Clayton: town on Clay Land
Koen: brave and gallant
Harvey: army warrior
GIRLS:
Isaura: soft air
Dagny: day, brightness, new day
Penelope: dream weaver

How important is the meaning of a name to you?  Does it really matter?

When you were growing up did you really think about it?

THANKS : )

Rosalie means "of the roses." Margaret comes from the Greek Margarites, which means pearl. St. Margaret is also the patron saint of expectant mothers. How appropriate!

My mom liked the name Guinevere, which means fair, white and smooth. The original namesake was an adulterer, according to BTN. My dad overruled with Rosalie, after a Grateful Dead song "Rosalee McFall," so my mom chose Margaret after her aunt Margaret Rose.

Meaning IS important to me. My favorite name is Lenora, and I like its variations, Lenore, Eleanor, etc., which all mean Light. My favorite middle names are Joy, Grace, Faith and Rose, which are all pretty self-explanatory.

My favorite boy names are Dominic, "of the Lord," Christopher, "bearing Christ," and Emanuel, "God is with us."

I also love these names, which have no special meaning to me at all:

Austin: a city in Texas and a form of Augustine
Cameron: crooked nose
Addison: From a surname meaning son of Adam
Isabel: Hispanic form of Elizabeth (which does mean "God is my oath," which is very special.

So yeah...meaning is pretty important to me. Thanks for making me think about that!
