ok I am jsut about 16 weeks with baby #2. An u/s at 12 w to confirm dates showed what looked like a little boy but since that is so incredibly early i'm not ruling out anything yet. some of the names I like for middle names and some for first this is my first draft so to speak lol so it will hopefully get better as time moves on and we can start establishing which name goes where. feel free to suggest more names because right now I am totally open to suggestion. My tendency is to lean toward irish/scottish names because my husband family is from cork and I have family scattered throughout scotland. I also tend to like greek/roman myth and hebrew names.

seamus I personally like a lot and its not something even unpopular. children are named it all the time in ireland.

Archimedes is something personaly for me and if we go with it it would be a middle name because I wouldn't want to embarass my kid.

tempest and temperance. I know they aren't normal but I jsut like them a lot.

Elisha is biblical and my first son has a biblical middle name also (malichi)

alari isn't up there and i havent acutally ever heard of it.

but yeah you have every right not to like them and thats cool if you don't I just thought I would give a few explanations on some of the more different ones.

I don't really see what is wrong with Tamsin, I know a Tamsyn.
And Elisha is very similar to Alisha, Alyssia etc.
Also, I know of a Tempest.

Nothing wrong with Bronwyn, just a rare but normal name where I come from.
I also don't think Tamsin is that bad.

But I agree especially that Tempest and Temperance are ridiculous, and Archimedes is not that good an idea either...

I'd like to say that Malichi is not Biblical. Malachi is. IMHO, if you don't spell it Hebrewly (I made up a word, I know) then it's not technically Biblical. Like Zachariah. It's ZECHariah.

Bronwyn-blessed - sounds very LOTR, but not horrible.
Caelan-slender - kind of pretty. We have been having a long discussion about Caeslin in this comm.
Isabel-God of plenty - one of my all-time faves and fave spellings of it.
Lael-of God - Love this, and I know a sweet girl with this name. It's very unique but not hard to pronounce.
Lenore-shining light - I also like this, although Lenora is my top name.
Tempest-stormy - not into this one so much
Temperance-moderation - or this one. Makes me think of not drinking alcohol.

Our son actually has the middle name Malachy which is the irish variant. there is a saint malachy and such. so its not directly taken from the bible nor is it a hebrew name.

caelan is pronounced kee-lin. in gaelic its spelled differently but I fear no one would be able to pronounce it.

ciaran is pronounced keer-in if im not mistaken

my son's name is Morgan Malachy Alastair.
I like unusual names yes. I don't want them to be so crazy no one has ever heard them and I don't like them to be made up bs lol but I want my children to have strong names that mean something. My name is cassandra and i love it. its not uncommon but its not rendy or popular either.

What is your first childs name?

Ariel- beautiful, mermaid connection but that's not a problem for me.
Caelan- quite popular, not as much as caitlin but there are loads of different spellings & if you add them all up it's kid of trendy... but i like it still
Isabel- very very popular now, but i love it spelt Isabelle.
Tempest- hmm... weird but i can imagine it being quite a cool name actually.. makes me think of shakespeare.
Temperance- love it
Tamsin- very pretty and unusual, although i know a few Tamsin's it's not often heard.

Archimedes- i see you love the sword in the stone!! if you want an owl connection go for Athena for a girl (goddess of wisdom, greek wisdom=owl)Archimedes is a bit over the top
ciaran- Like a lot, but i think i prefer Cairen (like Ciaran but the first sullabke is kye not kear)

archimedes- I have a penchant for disney (I have tinkerbell and ariel tattoed on me) but my husband is very much into history and math so the owl isn't the reason we chose the name lol

deacon- is a servant in the church so to me it was more like servant of God which is something I want for with my children :)

I just wanted to make one comment regarding Bronwyn. I know a lot of people don't care one way or the other, but if you are a stickler for correctness, -wyn is male in Welsh. The female spelling would be Bronwen.

Female Annora Very pretty! Ariel Cute name. I knew a girl named Aril and she was called Ariel all the time. Bronwyn I also went to school with a Bronwyn, lovely name! Her sister was Attalie which I also loved. Caelan Love! The Caeslin discussion mentioned before is entirely my fault as it's my absolute favorite name and this is close enough I really like it too! Isabel Another of my favorite names.. I wish it wasn't so popular Lael Very nice!! Lenore Not a big fan of this one or any variants. It's... ok Tempest Interesting. Not really one I'd lean toward Temperance Another interesting one I'd never use =) Thalia Love it! Male Alaric This one's ok... Archimedes I think even as a middle name this one's a stretch. Ciaran I really like this one. Deacon Very cute name, but it doesnt seem like it grows-up well... I think of it as a little boys name more than a mans. Elisha Love this one. Love Biblical names. Elijah is one of my favorites and Elisha is right up there with it. Although I wonder if most people would realize it's not pronounced e-LEE-shuh but e-LY-shuh Elliot I worked with a special needs Kindergartener with this name, so it always gives me fond (and exasperating at times) memories=) Guillermo This one's a little too ethnic for my white self, but a nice name in and of itself. Annora-I really prefer the spelling Honora. Pronounced the same as Annora, it just doesn't look more made up.
Ariel-everyone will think you named her after the Little Mermaid.
