Getting somewhere...
Jul. 14th, 2009 12:01 pmI think my husband and I are finally getting somewhere. We had pretty much settled on Ada, it wasn't our favorite but we settled on it because we couldn't decide on anything we liked any better. But now we're starting to explore our options more and really read through name books/websites. I think if we can't decide on a name that we both love, we'll end up naming her Ada by default and that seems so wrong, but I don't know what else to do! So here's a running list so far and hopefully we can find the perfect name...
I like Edith (nn Edie/Edy) and Maude. My husband likes Camilla (nn Milla/Millie, Cami), and Adina.
Edith
Maude
Camilla
Adina
Opinions please?

Date: 2009-07-14 04:22 pm (UTC)I highly doubt kids growing up with our daughter will be teasing her about Edith Bunker, I would be hugely surprised if they even know who that is!
And what do people mean "its too old sounding"? Edie is absolutely adorable-not to mention the fact that old fashioned names are making their comeback. I dont see how its too old sounding.
I love it and I think its one of my hubby's favorites, that is to say, that I am sure I could talk him into liking it. ;)

Date: 2009-07-14 04:29 pm (UTC)Edith and Adina are pretty. And Ada could be a nn. I think Adina Rodriguez sounds nice. Edith Rodriguez does too though!
I knew a pretty screwed up girl named Camille, which is why I'm not very fond of the name. And Maude is ok.

Date: 2009-07-14 04:45 pm (UTC)Camilla sounds great with your last name but with 2 middle names may prove to be a bit long although I like the nn Millie a lot
Adina is nice (I like it better than Ada but it may be a lot of -a sounds with Samantha)
I still like Cora a lot

Date: 2009-07-14 07:58 pm (UTC)Maude is exceptionally ugly, Edith slightly better and Camilla is okay but I don't like Millie, and Adina doesn't do anything for me either, I don't like the harsh 'deena' sound, gives it a downmarket feel.

Date: 2009-07-15 02:46 am (UTC)Edith - I'm still not totally onboard with this name but I have been starting to have a greater appreciation for it. Edie/Edy is very cute.
Adina - Sounds made up to me and I just don't like it all around. The only plus is that you could use Ada as a nickname.
Maude - I can't stand this name. Also, at least with how I say it, it rhymes with the first syllable of your last name and I don't care for that. MOD RODriguez
I like Ada better than these. Sorry. :\
