Yet another misuse of a name with deep, deep roots in an ancient religious tradition. Maybe they'll name their next daughter Krishna.

because Shiloh is an ancient Jewish boys name. Now they ruined it. For boys, anyway.

P.S- Nouvel? Does that translate to "new" in a language over there? Because variations of that mean new in various languages.

I have no knowledge of any African languages, but I doubt it would. Maybe they're following the tradition of a French middle name like Jolie?

I like it, I think it goes well with Maddox and Zahara for some reason. Compared to some of the other new names celebs have had going on, I like it. Someone, I think it fits a Jolie-Pitt child.

Since Mr. Pitt is wild about architecture, I wonder if they intended Nouvel as a reference to the architect Jean Nouvel, rather than using it for its French meaning? (Especially since nouvel would be the masculine form of the adjective, no?)

I don't get that "dog" thing. Just because someone named a dog Shiloh and wrote a book about it, doesn't automatically make it just a dog's name. Plenty of pets have 'human' names, doesn't make the names any less human. I actually like it, as far as celeb names go, it's not freaking weird like most you hear. I personally wouldn't use Shiloh, but it doesn't make me fear for the child's future :P

Shiloh's a boy's name, and I know tons of people who named their pets that. So yeah...it's great...for a boy.

actually, it's a unisex name... it was a place in the Bible, so it's not specific to any gender.
