Raiinstorm's post about renaming herself made me wonder what everyone else would call themselves.

What would you rename yourself, even if you like your current name?

I think I would take my middle name- Francesca. It just seems so strong and unique without being too unique.
Other than that, (as cliche as it sounds) I would love to have the name Cosette, because I am madly in love with Les Misérables, and Cosette is my favourite character from it.

A knew a girl named Jessica Parker, which fits your P*****. I just thought that was neat. The weird thing was that the Jessica I knew has a sister named Sarah... y'know... Sarah Jessica Parker?

I don't mind my name (Amelia), but I would probably like something with more potential for nicknames. I've just got Meals on Wheels over here.

*feels special in a dorky way* :)
I think everyone should feel free and able to change their name if all or part of it doesn't fit. My sister is even thinking of changing her middle name, and since hurricane Katrina she's been thinking of changing her first name too!

Everyone's going to be shocked, but I would love to be named Esther. I think it's a gorgeous name with a gutsy lady behind it, and the nickname Esti is fabulicious!

That, or Hanna, my late granny's name, pronounced more like the Hebrew Chana, but I'm saving that for a daughter :)

My name is Eva, by the way.

Esther reminds me of The Bell Jar, and that reminds me of a crazy woman. So it doesn't strike me as a good name. Sorry =/

Well I would make my middle name be Brette, instead of Beth. My mom wanted Brette but my dad got his way... and I've always hated my middle name.

If I could rename myself I might change my first name to Jenny, because I always thought I looked like a Jenny for some reason. Not Jen, not Jennifer, just Jenny. =D

my maiden name was Torey Elizabeth Ready (yeah like ready to go) so obviously i'd change my last name...
but now I'm Torey Elizabeth Loftin and I think i'd change my name spelling from Torey to Tori because I get it spelled like that ALL the time

i've actually never really thought about it and seeing as how i don't really like that many girl names to begin with, i really can't see myself fitting into any other name.

but, i'm adopted and for some reason in middle school i got the idea that my bm named me Alison [it was a closed adoption and so i don't know if she even put a name on the birth certificate]. I don't know where i got this idea, but i guess i've always felt a liitle Alison-ish..which is weird, heh.

My mother named me after Katharine Hepburn but chose the traditional spelling of Katherine. If I could I would've picked the Hepburn spelling, Katharine.

Ivy Clara [clar-uh ... first syllable rhymes with scar]

That was the only other name I seriously considered for myself, think I could probably pull it off and rather like the alliteration with my surname.
My given middle name is Clair, which is nice enough but just doesn't flow properly with anything else I like. So have to go for a variant.

Shall stick with Sage Elise for myself, and keep the other name on my list.

I was going to put Ivy as well, I absolutely adore the name. I'm going to save it for a future daughter though (if I can twist my boys arm that is!)

Kezia, because that's what i was supposed to be called until my father found out about the biblical connection. I don't love it enough to use for one of my own children, but it's a cool unusual name, better than Sophy. grrr.
I don't especially mind my middle name, so i'd probably keep it.
Kezia Mary-Kate, i think it flows rather well.. KMK.. ahhh thank goodness the M is there, not another K!

I would give myself the name that I plan to name my baby, if the baby is a girl.

But I like my name, even with the unique spelling that must be explained and discussed at least once a day, and even though non americans can NEVER pronounce it.

I like my name now (Charlotte), and I'm actually rather pressed to find one I'd like more. I'd probably go for something crazy, like Zoraida Evangeline or something. I wouldn't mind being a Willa or a Stella or a Saphira, I guess.

I'd definitely go for something androgynous or even just something that would give rise to an androgynous nickname at least, as I'm really not the most girly of girls.
