What do you think?

Gorgeous. French names might be the most beautiful names ever. Océane is amazing in my opinion.

Enzo will never remind me of anything besides the show Reboot now though :/

I love Manon, Océane, and Anais for the girls, and for the boys I like Antoine, Clément, and Romain. Lovely lists!

Mah-nohn is how I usually see it, but the last end is sort of...swallowed.

However,

However, <a href="http://www.azopera.com/learn.php?subcat=newtoopera&subpage=pronunciationguide" TARGET="_blank"this site has a WAV</a> of the name being said. It's a guide to opera titles, hehe.

Oh craptastic because I messed up the HTML and meant to say "n" not "end". The last end, really.

Anyways, sorry I broke the link (Owner must fix manually, yeah, because we can edit comments. Thanks, Eljay!), but you can copy-paste it and it should be fine!

LOL, I hate that we can't edit our comments! Regarding Manon, that's how I've always pronounced it, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you for your help! :)

I think I am surprised that "Jenifer" is not on that list, but I guess it's not as popular right now?

Personal taste, I have always liked "Manon". I also like "Maeva", but I had a student with that name who started to like pretending she was a dog, barking in class and hiding under her desk like a doghouse, and I think I would always think of her and not very fondly (it was the number 1 name in France in 2001, I just found out).

I don't like most of the boys names. Théo and Lucas are nice. My favorite French boys names are Aimeric, Mathurin, Ewann, and Killian.

I do not like Inès, Océane, Mathilde, or Tom.

Seeing "Camille" so high on the girls list makes me feel a little bad for the boy "Camille" I taught. And for the boys who get named "Matteo" or "Mathéo" and have five other boys with the same name in their class. It's kind of ridiculous that two different spellings of the same exact name are so high on the list.

I adore Anais and Océane. However, while I would use the former, I would not probably use the latter.

Matthias is my maiden name...I've been a few men with it as their first name, too. My husband and I go back and forth on whether we to use it for a son's name someday.

Thast would be so cool! My maiden name is also a boy's name, Bennett, but I hate it.

I think Bennett sounds nice. :)

We have a list of unusual names on my lj post:

Hopefully we get to use them soon!

It's quite nice, would you use it as a middle name?

My name (Julie) is in the top 20 somewhere, that surprises me.

Huzzah for my name being number 1.

Yeah... I can't believe my (our) name is #1. It's not very common here (Canada). Most people don't even know how to pronounce it!

I'm getting to be such a Francophile, so really like pretty much all of those.
Went to Paris last week and there was a little girl named Océane in a resturant. She seemed very sweet.

some of these are really fabulous, especially the boys names. i tend to really like british names also. they almost always seem just so...dignified, but sweet at the same time.

shit, i've ALWAYS hated the name Manon. all i can ever think when i hear it is deli meat. i have no idea why. but it just sounds disgusting and greasy when i hear it.

anyway, i really love almost all the rest of the names. Oceane is amazing!!

What gorgeous girls names,
the only ones i don't like are;

3) Manon- ehh, this is just plan ugly.
8) Jade- tacky name
10) Sarah- borrring
11) Lisa- bit tacky and outdated
14) Marie- bit boring, i dont hate it... its just.. blah
18) Mathilde- ugly.

I'm so surprised Anais is there, i was ignorant to the fact it was so popular elsewhere in the country, i adore it. Especially as a middle name.
Esmé Anais *sighs so pretty*
Léa is a wonderful name to be number 1, but... how the hell is Emma so popular EVERYWHERE! it's not that great!!!

Forgot to post on the boys! This list is great too. I love them all pretty much...except

3) Enzo- reminds me of a muppet or somehing..
5) Thomas- borrrring
12) Maxime- hmm.. like Madame Maxime from HP? i like plain Max
20) Baptiste- Thisis weird, and too religious.

I love love love

1) Théo
2) Lucas
6) Hugo
9) Léo
10) Noah
13) Louis

Especially Lucas, Noah and Leo.

I'm glad these lists are the UK because i'd be so upset all my favourite names are so high!
