(no subject)

My friend's friend just had a baby girl.

Dazyah.

Not sure on pronunciation.
Not sure I want to know either.

I see variations of the word all of the time. It's supposed to be Déjà, as in "It's déjà vu all over again." It's supposed to be pronounced the American way, without the accent on the 'a.' I never see it spelled correctly, though.

Turns out, posters in the name's comment section on Behind the Name say it's Lithuanian for "unfortunately," Spanish for "to leave," and Slavic for "to do something, to act." I just say it's a stupid name.

Maybe Dasha (http://babynamer.com/Dasha)? It does have Deja as a similar name on it's BabyNamer page...
