No, I don't. I like them both separately and as a set. I think as long as one ends in the "ah/uh" sound and the other doesn't they're fine, but Gabrielle and Isabel, for example, I don't like because it's so rhyme-y.
YES. It's 'elle' overload. That, and I don't think the names, barring their sound, similar enough to work. Personally, a Gabrielle is a laid-back, sporty, talkative kind of woman who's not necessarily beautiful, while Isabella is dark, regal, a bit flighty, and gorgeous.
I think they're just fine. Gabrielle is one of the names I really wish I could use, but it would rhyme with my last name and I don't want to do that to my kid. :(
I think they're too similar. My rule is, if two names could have the same nickname (in this case Elle), they're too similar. I also happen to hate both of these names, but that's a different story.
