Feb. 17th, 2009 02:57 pmI feel so bad for one of the kids I teach. His name is Agabus. What do you think? Is that not the cruelest name you can call a child?
Here are other interesting names of kids I teach:
Seth
Evan (Girl)
Dante
Monty (Montgomery)
Medina
Hazel
Rachel
Isabella
Mason
Shakeel
Sahib (pronounced SIGH-hib)
Harshdeep
Thoughts?

Date: 2009-02-17 11:39 pm (UTC)I've never heard of Agabus before, though. I googled it and it's in the Bible. It has all sorts of unpleasant sounds in it. "Ag", "uh" "bus".

Date: 2009-02-18 02:16 pm (UTC)It still looks horrible for me, one of those names that works well in its culture, and nowhere else. You know, like Candida. It's a perfectly normal name in Portuguese-speaking countries. A bit old-fashioned, true, but perfectly legit.
