Date: 2009-02-09 04:53 pm (UTC)Mehki/McCai is interesting. Did she run out of male names ending in -ah?

Date: 2009-02-09 08:13 pm (UTC)I think the only good thing about having 14 kids would be getting to name them all
Date: 2009-02-09 04:48 pm (UTC)Of course, the Duggars and this woman ruined it with all their themes. So, even if they do like another name, they can't use if it doesn't end in -ah or start with J. Silly.

Date: 2009-02-09 05:43 pm (UTC)I do love Noah, however.
I'd be curious to know what her other kids' names are.

Date: 2009-02-09 09:57 pm (UTC)It must be so hard to come up with 8 names you really like, though. It would be for me, at least. There are quite a few names I like, but not many I like enough to really use.

Date: 2009-02-09 11:33 pm (UTC)I like Maliah, but without the 'h.' The 'h' ruins the name, I think.
McCai is godawful. Is that even legit?
I like Jonah. :)
Nariah is hiddeous. I'm pretty sure they made it up.

Isaiah
Jonah
Jeremiah
Josiah
but I feel like there's a -ah pattern going on here. I don't particularly like Maliah (Malia would be okay, but too Obamaesque for me), and I hate McCai and Nariah.

Date: 2009-02-10 12:41 am (UTC)I also don't think she's crazy. Irresponsible, and a bit selfish, yes. But I read she grew up as an only child and thus wanted a large family. I know the loneliness associated with being an only child. Or being raised away from siblings. This woman clearly still carries that loneliness and clearly wanting to be a mother, didn't want that for her own. I understand that, but I think the 6 she was already struggling to care for, was plenty. I only hope social services doesn't swoop in like the vultures they are, and break this family up. Instead of money being used to fund ss interference and holding children hostage or adopting them out, it should be spent on helping families with their needs, so they can stay together.

Date: 2009-02-10 01:43 am (UTC)I think she's one of these women that are obsessed with pregnancy and childbirth, and being around newborns, but quickly loses interest once the children grow up. Her mother has said she couldn't even care for the six she had, so why have more? And that is a mental illness, I'm not saying she should lose the children, but she should be forced to het help.
I think a lot of people are also annoyed, because she knew she couldn't afford them and is expecting taxpayers to foot the bill. And their hospital care alone will be around a million dollars.

Date: 2009-02-10 04:35 am (UTC)Why didn't she adopt a dozen or so "lonely" children?

Date: 2009-02-10 10:10 pm (UTC)I definitely don't agree with her having the extra kids after she already had 6, and I definitely think she needs counseling, I just don't like such severe labels as "crazy", especially coming from people on the outside, who are only hearing a few details, and haven't witnessed the whole picture. It's like judging a book by it's cover.
There's alot of things people do that they shouldn't, and even to the extreme, I don't think that means they're crazy. Look at smoking. There's no excuse anymore for anyone to smoke, because it's clear how bad it is, that cigs are essentially poison sticks, yet people are still smoking them, and some an obscene amount per day! Yet, I've never heard anyone call smokers crazy, as in literally meaning it, though really they could be because they are knowingly doing something, ingesting toxins, that it's been proven, cause several health problems, and can even lead to death, plus it's not just themselves they are putting at risk, but anyone around them.
I think if this mother were actually that mentally unstable, that 'crazy' as people are calling her, her parents would have tried to have her committed. Or someone like maybe one of the doctors who helped her conceive, or those who treated her while she was pregnant, would have picked up on any mental problems severe enough to be of such concern, and thus said something, done something. Yet, that doesn't seem the case, so I really don't feel it warranted to use such extreme labels for people we don't know, whose lives we haven't lived, nor witnessed.
