Is Acadia a legit name? Would you use it? Do you like it? Do you know someone with the name- and how old is she? Could Catie/Caty or Cady be used as a nickname?

Where I live, you would probably get laughed at so darn much. We would all just look at the kid and be like, "why did your parents name you after the university three minutes away?" Or, "why did your parents name you after the group of people that got expelled from here hundreds of years ago?"

To me, it is not a name at all.
