What do you think?

Two note worthy names from work recently:

Brendan~for a 2 year old girl. "Yeah, it's Brenda, with an 'N,'" says Mom.

Stryker~4 year old boy. Every time I see this name I think about that 80's band Stryper and wonder "why oh why?"

I dunno, I think it's kinda weird on a girl. I've never known a girl to have that name.

Brendan seems like a boy name to me.

Stryker sounds violent. :(

Brendan is much better for a boy IMO

stryker is the name of a crooked cop from the mortal combat series >_>

Brendan isn't too bad for a girl, it's a bit unusual, but I love boys names for girls anyway lol

Stryker makes me think of X2. Everybody in the post has said a different example for it, haha. Doesn't seem like an actual name to me.

And Brendan. It may be spelled Brenda, with an N, but it's a boy's name.

Stryker is a surname (Dutch, I think)--I'm wondering if they're using that as a family name.

So I'm a bit confused. Is it just "Brenda" with a silent n at the end, (so it may as well not even be there) or is it the same pronunciation, "Bren-DEN" as it is when it's used for a boy? If it's the former, I don't like it at all.

When I was younger, I was really good friends with a girl with a brother named Stryker. I always thought it was weird, but it fit him. He played a lot of baseball in high school. Haha.

I hear Stryker and think some sort of fighter pilot. If that's what she was going for, she certainly succeeded...

Brendan on a girl is just lame.

(I'm not in a very forgiving mood tonight)
