Date: 2008-12-16 09:38 pm (UTC)Zachary John.
Also, I love the name Leah. Love love it. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend is named Leah, and he is 100% against it. :(

Date: 2008-12-16 09:43 pm (UTC)Both names are so-so in popularity. I think they're classic names that will remain "popular" forever.

Date: 2008-12-16 10:05 pm (UTC)I think Leah is very pretty, but that and Madeline/Madeleine are nms. I prefer Leah Madeleine (as long as its pronounce Mad-uh-lane or Mad-uh-leen and not Mad-uh-lyn)

Date: 2008-12-16 10:10 pm (UTC)I love both!
My preferences:
Zachary Jonathan, because it's a full name.
Leah Madelein, as to avoid confusions with Madeline being pronounced both Mad-eh-lin and Mad-eh-line.

I think that Zachary and Leah are fairly popular, but not so much that you couldn't get away with using them--I think they are classic names that people will always be able to use. There is always Zachariah if you want an alternative for Zachary.

Date: 2008-12-16 10:43 pm (UTC)I'm not familiar with the Madeleine spelling... It looks like there's an extra E thrown in to be creative or something...

Date: 2008-12-16 10:44 pm (UTC)Zachary used to be my top boy's name... then I grew up and got over Hanson, lol. j/k. I still like it, but I don't love it.
And, yeah, like others have said both names are pretty timeless, so no need to worry about being "trendy."
And echoing - Zachary Johnathan and Leah Madeline.
Next question: Is Leah gonna be pronounced lee-uh or lay-uh?

Date: 2008-12-17 12:09 am (UTC)When my brother was born it was relatively unknown here. However within the last 16 years i've heard of more boys named Zachary.
My brother's name is Zachary John, so I like that.

Date: 2008-12-17 01:28 am (UTC)And while I was in school, our three classes (that is, my class year and the ones directly senior and junior my own class, totalling some over 1200 people) only had one other Leah total. I graduated in 2006. So for me, it never was popular, but it seems to be moreso with children in the 5-6 age range.
