WDYT of the name Darlene? Do you think Darcy or Lena would be a better nickname?

It sounds like blue-collar/lower class name to me. That perception probably has a lot to do with it being the name of Roseanne's daughter on the TV show.

I like Darcy and Lena better than Darlene as names in their own right, but for a nickname of Darlene, I think Lena works better.

I like Darcy as a name, but it reminds me too much of Jane Austen.

I don't think that should stop you if you really like it! People name their kids after literary references all the time. I didn't even think of it until you mentioned it, and the character is one that most people like :)

Yeah, you're right. I do like Darcy a lot and I'd much rather have people think of P&P than Roxanne. LOL
