Names for girl children are hard. grrrrr.
I like Elisabeth and Ella - but both are super common.
If you had to choose... what is your number one, super awesome choice?
Maybe it'll inspire me to make a choice.

My number one girl's name is Claire.

However, everyone hates it. So I'd probably go with Anne/Annie.
What about Eliza or Eleanor? Eliza is less common, but still similar, and Eleanor could be Ella, but could also be the less-common Norah if the popular of Ella bothered you.

I knew a really cute/funny woman named Harriet and I have total positive associations with that name.

I forgot about this one - so gorgeous.
As a girl, Tilly?
And adult, Matilda?

My top four right now are Anne/Annie, Margaret/Meg, Eleanor/Ellie, and Louisa/possibly Lia, but probably just Louisa.

Sophie Jane and Natalie Claire are currently my top two names. Sophie Jane is my number one because the Jane is after my grandma.
Elisabeth/Elizabeth is very very pretty and while it may be common, it's also a timeless name so I think you can get away with using it :) and if you use that one, you can also still use Ella as a nn so you get both names :)

As for my number one name in general, I plan on naming my first born daughter Leslie Blair.

My husband and I are split with names. The only one we agree on is Mathilde (me: Mathilde Katherine, him Mathilde Jane) and then he really likes Alice, and I'm split between Esme and Etta. Oh, and we both like Eleanor, nn Norah. Now me, I can't pick a boy's name to save my life lol!

My number one girls name is Aino (pronounced eye-no). It's a Finnish name, from the word "ainoa" which means the only one. It's also the name of a girl in the Finnish mythology but her story ends very sadly.

Between Ella and Elizabeth I would choose Elizabeth as the full name and use Ella as a nickname.

I also really like Sophia, popular or not, at the moment. So if I had a little girl right now, her name would probably be Evangeline Sophia or Evelyn Sophia. But this is me - I change my mind far too often!
Oh, and I love both Ella and Elisabeth, but I like Elisabeth just a bit more.

PS: I think Elisabeth is prettier.

Between your two, I like Elisabeth better (especially the way you're spelling it). It's a nice name and has a lot of nickname possibilities. :)

My top girls name pick ATM is Leah. I already have an Emilie Claire and Hannah Paige. I find girls names so much easier than boys! :)

As for me, my top girls names seem to waver, just because I love so many of them. Right now I'd say my top one is Alexandra, with Katherine close behind, but that could change, just because I have a whole bunch that I adore. On the other hand, it takes a lot for me to like a boy's name -- and once I like it, I usually stick with it, haha.
