[identity profile] twitchywoman.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
A message board I frequent were discussing names a bit.  I had to sit back and read as everyone discussed terrible names because I couldn't bring myself to say what I really thought of the names.

Two of the bad ones:
Jayden
Raegan (which is what someone actually named their daughter this)

I wanted to bang my head on something hard.

Someone else had a baby and named the girl a decent name but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.  I didn't really like it, but it definitely was better than the trend crap that is out there nowadays.

I really dislike Jayden. Raegan I don't mind so much, I don't know why. I wouldn't use it but I think it sounds nice enough.

Ugh, I hate all the -ayden names... as most people do.
I knew a baby named Raegan about a decade ago. Eh. Let's just hope the middle name isn't Megan :)

My sister's ex best friend named her daughter Raegan Emily because she didn't want people to call her Reegan. No, now instead she'll have to spell her name her entire life and probably turn into a stripper.

Reagan, to me, is bad enough as a female first name. Raegan is worse. It makes me think of RAY-gunn (and indirectly Marvin the Martian). Jayden is so overdone and terrible. It was already becoming popular before Britney Spears named her second son, but she just made it worse, I think.

Raegan/Reagan is actualy a female name and is quite old. The spelling Raegan is found in Shakespears King Lear.

Raegan is really a very old name for a woman. It is even used in Shakespeare. I like it, but I think the president made the name less usable as a girls name.

I know a Jayden and I am not too fond of it. I like Jade or even Jadah better.
