Names from dreams
Nov. 21st, 2008 04:22 pmI had dream last night where I met a cute little girl that lived in a room above mine, connected through a glass. She was about 8 years old, blond, brown eyes, with hippie-chic parents and a fantastic collection of Vintage Rock CD's, that you definitely wouldn't expect to see in a child's bedroom.
We communicated through the glass window by raising notebooks with messages on them, and that's how I learned her name was Mania.
At first, I thought it was read MAHN-yah, as there are legit italian names as Tania, Vania, Dania, etc, but then I heard her saying it and it was Mah-NEE-ah, just like the italian word "mania", meaning, well, mania in english.
Obviously it would be cruel to use it, but I can't help liking it! :)
WDYT?

Date: 2008-11-21 03:48 pm (UTC)But yes, it's unusable as a name, I think. Though it's a lot better than some of the names I see in these birth announcements. *shudders*

Date: 2008-11-21 09:52 pm (UTC)the name itself makes me think of the old hitchcock film "marnie". whose title obviously is a play on words too. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058329/
