babynames....love a name but dispise the shortened version?
For example, my name is Jillian. I love it. But most people, of course, shorten it to Jill. I don't mind it, I've gotten use to it but deep down I think it's too short, plain and boring! I'm so glad I have Jillian to go by professionally.
Have you come across any names that irk you like this?

Date: 2008-10-23 03:38 am (UTC)I love Harriet, Louisa, Michael, and James, but I HATE all of the nicknames for Harriet (except Etta), I don't like Lou, and I don't like Mike. I also HATE the name Jim. I do like Jamie, but I don't know that it'd work on an adult the way Jim is used.
