[identity profile] korrrrri.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Awhile back I  made a huge list of girls names and a huge list of guys names that I liked. Today, precisely twenty minutes ago, I found the document saved on my computer , and started asking my fiancee about which names he liked. I stuck with girls since he was going to bed and was annoyed at my asking, but my name list has been condensed.... To a total of four names, three if you count that two are fairly similar.

                 Aubrey
                 Claire
                 Clara
                 Grace

So, seeing as I like Clara better than I like Claire  and his favorite of all of the above is Aubrey, I figured I could either go with either of the names below:

         Aubrey Grace
         Clara Grace
         Aubrey Claire

In ending, I'm asking you what you think, and if you know of any names that I can offer up to my fiancee that are similar to his tastes.
Thank you much.

I love Claire/Clara and Grace. Aubrey has always been a boy's name to me (it is, technically, and I only knew boy Aubreys until recently), so I'm not a huge fan. What about Audrey? Very very similar sound, but it's so much more feminine and classic.

Clara Grace or Aubrey Claire (or better yet, Audrey Claire) would by my vote.

I prefer Aubrey Grace. All three are pretty though.

I prefer Claire over Clara because I find Clara just sounds country like. And I just think of the character Clara from the Back To the Future Movies, in prairie style/old wild west clothes.

Grace is a traditional old fashioned name that's stood the test of time, and is mostly used as a middle name now, and it's fine.

I can't say I like Aubrey, nor Audrey, because to me it just sounds like someone saying 'awww' before the actual name.

I think Aubrey sounds like it would fall into the sophisticated category of names, so since your fiance likes it, I'm thinking sophisticated names are what he'd like.
Such as Claire, and also Elizabeth, Sophia, etc. I think you and he have a similar taste and so I would research those types of names, and suggest them to him.

They're all nice names. Clara is special to me because it was my great grandmother's middle name (hers was pronounced Clair-ah not claar-ah).

I love the names Claire and Aubrey, though not necessarily together. THey are both definitely on my Top 10 list for girls names!

I like Aubrey Grace or Clara Grace the best.

"Her fiance likes my name!" was my first thought.
And actually as I kept reading it got spookier because my name is Aubrey Clare Elana.

I think Clara Grace is really cute and not so common.

If you don't like Audrey I wouldn't suggest you go with Aubrey because I think it will be confused with Audrey a lot.

I love Aubrey Grace. For me, I'm not a fan of Clara (I have a 95 year old great aunt named Clara so the association isn't great haha).

I think of Aubrey as more of a boys name, but it's one of the ones that doesn't really bother me on girls. It really does sound great with Claire. Clara is a name that I really like and Grace is nice too. Clara Grace is a good combo.

I don't think Aubrey Grace flows very well. I'm not too sure why. I think it might be the two "r" sounds...or maybe the "br" and the "gr" since they're both harder/harsher sounds? I don't know. It gets choppy--Aw. Bree. Grace.

Clara Grace--eh, it's alright.
Aubrey Grace--I think this one works very well!
Aubrey Claire--something about it sounds too harsh to me. Perhaps it's the contrast of the "ee" and "air" sounds.
