[identity profile] batting0.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So my baby sister (20) just told me yesterday she's having a boy--he's due March 17, but will come early, as she has to have a C-Section so they'll likely pick a date at least a week earlier, possibly even 2.

She let the father choose the first name since she had no boys names chosen, and the winner is::

Raysean (spelling may be different, not positive)

Yes, it's the combination of Ray and Sean. Pronounced just like you'd think. There IS a story behind the name--Ray and Sean are the names of his brothers, both currently deceased (one suicide, one murder). So the name has a meaning, and isn't just something he put together...

I'm not crazy about it, but it's not my choice, and I support my sister's decision.

Anyone have any suggestions for middle names that I can pass to her? She doesn't like any boys' names, really...

thanks for any help!!

Were I this boy, I would grow up to really resent the uncles who unwittingly caused me to be labelled 'raisin' and copy bad fruity jokes for my whole childhood... The parents really do need to think a it more about what they're doing to their child.

If they feel they must use it, try and talk them into making it the second name where the boy can hide it if necessary.
