I came across the name Ieva today. It sounds just like Eva in Russian (YEH-vah), and I think it's the Finnish version of Eva.
I just fell in love immediately with the sound of Ieva, but I'm not sure I like it spelled like this. Other options in my language (italian) could be Jeva or Yeva. Or Jevah / Yevah, even?
Ieva does look less common than the other spellings.
WDYT? Like it or not? Which spelling do you prefer?

Date: 2008-10-10 08:03 pm (UTC)This is probably to minor to consider, but the default font on my friends page is such that a capital i looks exactly like a lower case L. I scrolled past this post 3 times and read "Leva"- probably because I've never seen that name before and my brain has a hard time accepting it.
