I work with a guy named Cortney..I always assumed it was spelled Courtney but the other day I was writing his name down and he told me there's no u. When I asked why he said 'because I'm not a girl.'

So..does leaving out the 'u' make it any more masculine? Is Cortney one of those names like Ashley or Stacy that was originally a boy's name?

I also think it's kind of funny that the newest employee in Cortney's department is an older guy named Claire. Did that one used to be a male name too?

By the way..I love that Cortney is named Cortney..I'm a fan of girl names on boys. lol

Edit: I forgot about this one. I took a resume from a teenage girl today..and her name was Johnette. =/

Along the same lines as Johnette...I knew a girl named Donalla. She was the oldest of 3 kids. The dad was so set on passing on his name (Donald) that the first child (her) got a version and then the second child, a boy, was also named Donald. Blah...
