Favourite traditional names for girls?
I'm probably quite old fashioned when it comes to the kind of names I like. I dislike things that are too out there...anyway, here are my favourite traditional names for girls: (in no real order)
- Audrey
- Bethany (nn Beth)
- Catherine (nn Cathy)
- Charlotte (nn Lottie)
- Christine
- Elizabeth
- Emily
- Helen
- Jane
- Mary
- Margaret (nn Meg)
- Nancy
- Rebecca
I really like these names and luckily most of them could still be used today without the kid getting any grief over it. Anyone else like older names?

I just remember that there is this American girl at my school (I live in Germany) and her name is Lotti and it took 8 months until I realized her real name is Charlotte.. I'm dumb sometimes.

"Lottie" reminded me of someone I know named Liati. (If you like folk music, her website is here (http://www.cafeliati.com/) haha.) I think that's another gorgeous name. It's Hebrew. And you know what, I think you could actually use it as a nickname for Charlotte. That would be different. =D

I also tend to like older, or "traditional" names. Of your list, I like Bethany, Catherine (without a nn), Charlotte (without a nn), Christine, Elizabeth, Emily, Jane and Rebecca.

I generally don't like nicknames. Espically the ones you picked out, haha, sorry!

I love old names, too. If I had two daughters they'd be Anne and Elizabeth, and if I had a third she'd be Jane. I love Margaret and I've recently started like Eloise.

as do
Bethany, margaret, and Nancy.

Audrey used to be my favorite girl name but I think it's become too popular lately.
Charlotte is in my top five.

With the possible exception of Lettice, which is historical, if not exactly traditional.
I can't say I'm personally fond of Audrey, but I like everything else on your list. I hadn't thought of Lottie as a nickname for Charlotte, but I like it!
